Another view of the Technical School (click on images to expand) and a period, public notice. Note the gated, walled frontage. I'm not sure when the metal rails and gates went (probably taken to help the war effort during WW2), but the pillars survived into the mid 1970's. I remember low, swinging chains between the pillars in the late 60's / early 70's with grassed areas and flower beds within. The statue of Gladstone stood there too, until they moved him further up Blakeymoor and placed him outside of the Ribblesdale pub, where he still is today.
