Blackburn & The Park

Almost Lowryesque in appearance, this postcard shows the park (Corporation Park) from above the 'cannons'. The artist, who touched up and tinted the original photo, has picked out some of the forest of chimneys. The stamp on the rear of this card, is postmarked Aug 16 1906 and was posted to Brighton. The short message on the rear reads:  Dear Louie, I hope that you will have a fine day and I hope that you will enjoy yourself. With love, from George.  It was addressed to Miss L. Slater, 159 Eastern Road, Brighton.
I wonder who George and Louie were and what became of them? We will probably never know.
