The Florence Hotel, which stands proudly on the corner of Florence Street and Moss Street, in the Daisyfield district. Happy to report, it is still open and serving the local community.
The bottle, is another Whisky / Spirit flask (see the Golden Lion one for more info, under CHURCH STREET in the Labels column). The embossing on the front reads T. Astley Florence Hotel Blackburn. I know this bottle dates from the 1870's or 1880's, as Thomas Astley is listed in local directories, as being landlord of this hotel, during the better part of those two decades. The 'coffin' shape of the bottle, is also very typical of that period.
