I know this isn't Blackburn, but it does have strong connections with the town and provided employment for many over the decades. In my own family, my mum worked there for a while, her brother and his wife worked there for years. My sister also worked there for years and my younger brother and his wife worked there (they met there). In later times after it had ceased to be a hospital, there's obviously the links with the Rovers (the academy and training ground) and for a couple of years, Blackburn College rented units and ran art courses down there.
